Sales Engineer

 

Position

As the industry/product expert, the Sales Engineer is the liaison between the customer and the product team.  This customer facing position is responsible for listening to Exoko customers to understand solution requirements, current technical environment, key business issues, and future technology requirements and for demonstrating the technical and business benefits of Exoko solutions.

 

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

 

  • Responsibilities include providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education to after-sales support services;

  • Navigating complex technical organizations to build and maintain close relationships with partners and customers;

  • Add to the customer base through identification, qualification and development of new end-users;

  • Deliver of complex technical and sales oriented presentations to customer’s senior management and technical staffs;

  • Complete RFPs/RFIs by coordinating the contributions of key players across the company;

  • Manage and interpret customer requirements - listening to clients and using educated questions to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs;

  • Act as the liaison between the product team and the customer for new product development;

  • Propose and implement pilot/test programs into the customer’s infrastructure supporting the business benefits of Exoko products;

  • Maintain preference in the existing customer base;

  • Obtain and correlate customer feedback to assist with production planning, market analysis and product development;

  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;

  • Negotiate and close sales

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or petroleum engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

  • 8-10 years as a Project, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Process Engineer with “hands on” industry experience in directional drilling, positive displacement/progressive cavity motors and pumps, and high performance power sections including working knowledge of PDM (positive displacement motor) configurations, applications and trouble-shooting experience.

Preferences

  • Membership in one or more professional organizations such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers

  • Experience in “proof of concept” field trial deployment implementation and evaluation

  • Established marketing or service relationships with customers in the areas of exploration drilling, production operators and equipment vendors.
